Seven Devils Saltworks is hand-harvested, solar evaporated sea salt produced along the southern Oregon coast. Cool, crystal clear pacific northwest ocean water creates a superb sea salt. Its a simple, solar process. The saltwater is collected, then the water is solar evaporated in a greenhouse, and the salt dries in trays.

The ocean water is collected at Seven Devils Wayside, a remote beach in Bandon, Oregon, along the southern coast of Coos County.

One bucket at a time! The simplicity is part of the beauty of this salt.

The salt water is poured into two large troughs in the greenhouse. The greenhouse helps to warm the water, increase evaporation and and allow flakes to form.  The greenhouse also helps to keep the water clean.

Once enough water evaporates and the salinity increases the salt begins to form!

Once the salt is ready for harvest it is made into a pile then collected from the troughs. Depending on the temperature of the water, the salt forms as grains or flakes.

The salt is set in glass drying pans to completely dry out.

The salt maker! SDS is an independent woman owned business.  I do all the work start to finish in Bandon, Oregon.

It starts with pure, clean ocean water, and the sun does the rest!
